The fight for land

On Monday Nov. 28 Boeung Kak residents gathered in front of Phnom Penh Municipality to protest the failure of Phnom Penh authorities to begin demarcating the boundary of the 12.44-hectare land concession granted to Boueng Kak residents by Prime Minister Hun Sen on Aug. 17, 2011. As has become the norm, they were met by anti-riot police. Four female activists were arrested in the clashes that followed. The below photos are courtesy of LICADHO.
